One day, on her way home, May Florie heard her mother screams. Elaine was giving birth. The childbirth was difficult, however Elaine was able to deliver a boy. He was small and thin but apparently healthy. Luther called him Lawrie Finn.
Elaine was so exhausted, she couldn’t even hold her the newborn. Luther was moved by the birth of his first son. Olive and May seemed just as ecstatic to see their tiny little brother.
“Why mom isn’t here?” asked May.
“She needs to rest, my angel” replied Luther with a worried voice.
