Happy 5th anniversary, Birdmen !!! <3Â
@akitania​ @electroncloudscatteredaround​ and I came up with the idea that our lovely birbs liked playing around abandonned cities, and kinda fuelled ghost stories. So, what if the birdmen sightings were thought of ghosts sightings?
@electroncloudscatteredaround did the wonderful linear with the main flock and I did the their ghost forms. @akitania wrote a wonderful fic based on the theme.

Summary:
When faced with a time-sensitive threat, Eishi is forced to come to terms with his sticky relationship with local heroics. Sure they saved those in need, but what do they do in the face of imminent carnage?
My Birdversary 2018 entry! @bird-pun and @silversaucekai are my lovely collaborators whipping up some wonderful illustrations for this fic. They really helped motivate me into finishing this monster! Writing action is real challenging, especially when you’re having some writers block. Nevertheless I am so happy I could post something this extensive for a series that means so so much to me!
Title’s a reference to Catcher in the Rye which is one of my favorite literary classics and the main character shares similar themes to Prologue Eishi. Title in question is the main character’s interpretation of a Robert Burns poem where he imagines himself saving ‘all the children’ who are playing in the rye-- catching them from falling off a cliff. It’s a testament to Holden’s naive sense of heroism and a parallel I wanted to draw with Eishi in this great heroic test I put him through.Â

Like last year, part of birdversary will be an art swap--but this year, I’ve added a fic part so that writers can join in too!
Here’s how it will work:
Fill out the application stating what you want to do (art, fic, both)
On May 15th, I’ll close the survey and send out who you’ll be working with within the next few days.
Communicate with your partners what you want to do, and then post on Birdmen’s anniversary, July 17th! ***Make sure you include the tag “birdversary2018″ within the first 5 tags so I can find it and reblog it!***
Some more details about the art/fic:
In every group, there will be two artists. Each one draws their lineart, and then swaps and finishes the other’s with color. Depending on how many people want to write fics, your group may or may not have a fic writer, who will write a story that relates in some way to the theme/art swap/ideas that you all have chosen.Â
Note: if you choose to do both art and fic, you may or may not be writing fic for the art you have chosen. (If you have a preference, please message me!)

Now that we’re a little closer to birdversary, I just want to remind the artists that you leave a lot of time for your partner to color! (For example, my group is aiming to swap off a month before birdversary). As for fic writers, make sure you stay on track!
