So I was headed to class this morning when I saw a tennis ball among the little decorative rocks on the outskirts and I didn't think much of it because we do have a court not too far out and people lose them all the time, however said ball then proceeded to surprise me by doing something most tennis balls don't really do (at least not on their own) The little green ball jumped and it was at that moment that I readjusted my focus and realized that it was not in fact a tennis ball but instead a small little lime green bird chewing on some grass seeds.
After picking it up and asking around to see if anyone knew where it came from to no avail, my mother and I have constructed a makeshift hold for it and given it plenty of oats, water, some carrot, and a dab of tomato. The oats seem to be a favorite.
If we can't find it's owner idk what we'll do, both my mother and I have experience keeping birds however we also have cats that definetly would not get along with him. It's not impossible to have both, we've done it before every time we raise chicks (we don't keep them outside until they're adults) but still, if you're in the southeast TN area and know someone missing their tennis ball colored budgie, lmk.
