I think I would've been able to forgive and forget a lot easier if you had ever apologized for the things you did. I wouldn't have even cared if it wasn't sincere and if the abuse went on for the same number of years. I could've handled it. I would've kept on believing that you loved me even though it wasn't true.
But to scream in my face that you wish I had never been born, to manipulate me into getting you a dog and then kicking me out for it, to disown me on the side of the road the night before Thanksgiving after my first car accident, and then to act the next day like none of this ever happened? But it did. I remember. And your gaslighting isn't working anymore.
How can you even ASK me to come back? And how can you cry when I say no and walk away?
How can you send me emails saying you hope I'm doing well, and that you miss me?
Maybe you should have thought about how much you would miss me before you pushed me away and shut me out. I'm still hurting, and I'm still depressed, but if I were ever to respond to your emails, I'd want you to know that I'm doing better now than I ever could have with you.
