simon does sleep on his side, yes, but also with the plushie version of rocky that was given to him. he had also checked to make sure said plushie wasn't a bomb or anything similar. it didn't seem to be. also.. he isn't as alert as he used to be, perhaps. but it is more than enough.

this is true. simon associates peace, now, with his saviors - such as grace. their voices calm him down easily.

simon paused in his tracks, his eye going from one spot on the person to the next as they process the sight. he tensed, thinking over and over what to do - he glanced behind him. should he.. get grace..? rocky? was - was this who gave him the rocky plushie?

no, no.. clearly not. they're stuck. .. .. .. right..? or.. was this voluntary? .. .. .. it began hesitantly approaching, tail shifting once uncertainly. how long were they here?? did they follow them here or something?? unsheathing his claws just in case, he stopped in front of them, ".. hey. hey. you stuck? hurt?"

“okay. Now….. where to put…. Aha!”

*Sneaks into bedroom and places it on the bed with a bow before proofing into smoke*

simon gently pushes open the front door to where they're staying, eye shifting suspiciously - the door was slightly open before he got to it. and he hadn't done that. - he notices the bedroom next, slowly following the trail he was given - even if an accidental one.

he freezes as they take in the sight, one leg hovering a bit above air as if being known would make the.. the gift vanish. who - what? who.. broke in just to - just to give him this? did they at least take anything of his as a form of payment?

he hopes so. but he also didn't see anything amiss. still, he approaches it how one might do so with a bomb - with hesitancy, fear, distrust, and a bit of hidden excitement. he stops at the left side of his bed, too focused on the crocheted, detailed rocky to notice any lingering smoke.

they slowly.. very slowly.. poke it once - then jerk back like he was burned even though nothing happened, tensing. taking a long and deep breath, they poke it again. then again - this time lingering and testing the plushie's give. a small smile forms on his face as their eye lights up.

they crawl onto their bed, settling near the plushie and making sure its facing them. she carefully takes the bow off, enjoying the texture as well as wanting it to join her collection. they enjoy bows. setting said bow down on her bed, he pulls the plushie closer.

he appreciates it. and loves it a lot. they wish they could pay whoever did this back.
