Okay, I know this is a craptastic pic for the purpose, but I'm gonna ask anyway: DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS? As it flew about my head, I got the impression of a red band near its upper abdomen, & everything else appears to be solid black. I think it's a wasp, &, if so, it's the biggest one I've seen here in Illinois (it's straddling a standard 1-inch (2.54 cm) garden hose, for scale).
