You know how, in Encanto, la abuela is called Alma and el abuelo is called Pedro? Well, Alma's meaning is, pretty obvious, is soul in Spanish, but what about Pedro? I don't really like the theory that points Casita to be Pedro's spirit but, here I have something that might help that theory, I haven't seen this pointed out before so, here I go.

Here’s where my catholic upbringing gets to shine. I must say, this info is very vague 'cause my memory is, not great.
In the Bible, Pedro (Peter in English, I think) was called that because it comes from the Latin word "petrus" which means stone. And why was that his name? Because Jesus chose him to be the first pope, if I remember correctly it was something like "Pedro, you will be the stone in which my church will be founded".
So what if, following christian tradition, considering Colmbia's official religion is catholicism, el abuelo Pedro is named like that, 'cause he is the stones of the Madrigal's home, he is their Casita.
This can also be read as a simple, metaphor, saying that Alma and Pedro, being the founders of the family and the whole town, are the soul and stones that protect them all.
