chilly air, scented candles, and hurricanes!
ā chilly air:are you a warm weather or cold weather person?
Warm up to a point, but only because I have a hard time getting warm again once Iām cold. But I also love winter because I am a person who makes very little sense. My ideal spot is near the ocean when itās warm. For most of my life thatās been the north Atlantic, which means itās mostly not warm. I do love snow. (But not nine feet of it, plz. Iām looking at you, 2015.) I like rain storms. I like sweaters and hot drinks. I just donāt like the extremes. 30 degrees and snowing is nice. -28 and too cold to snow is awful. Anything under 20 F is not okay. Anything over 90 is kind of gross if itās at all humid. Over 100 is miserable and I feel like my brain is baking en papillote.
š„ scented candles:5 favorite smells
Someone asked me this but I didnāt answer it properly. I just kind of rambled incoherently.
coffee Ā
citrus, esp. lime
the top of Bertieās head, which smells very slightly smoky
gardenias
briny air
ā hurricanes:what do you do on rainy days?
I usually treat them like other days, but if I donāt have to go anywhere--itās nice to stay home and listen to the rain. Sometimes we put the blinds all the way up and turn off the lights and watch storms when thereās lightning, which is fantastic at night when you can really see the forks. Otherwise the usual: reading, knitting, baking. If itās cold I make chicken soup with dumplings or risotto or something.

send me ___ or ___ and Iāll pick one!
Bookish asks: 8, 20, 21!
8: Paperback or hardcover? Why?Depends on the book and how Iām using it. Iāve gotten more picky about how i treat my books, and hardcover is sometimes easier to keep nice, so thatās one appeal. I like the lightness of paperbacks though, and dust jackets usually just annoy me.
20: answeredĀ
21: Best winter read?I tend to want to read the Beekeeperās Apprentice books or Harry Potter in the fall/winter. Terry PratchettāsĀ Hogfather, of course. Books with journeys or winter themes or school stories.
