Spidey and the xmen were the two that my dad first introduced me to when I was younger . They both hold a special place in my heart . I loved tom hollands portrayal of Peter in civil war so I can't wait to see what he does in his own movie .
Thatās great you got to share it with your dad. :D Ā Was he sharing comics with you or the cartoons or both?
I used to watch the X-Men cartoon in the 90ā²s, but only occasionally. I seem to recall that they had a lot of multi-episode arcs that Iād always come into the middle of so I was always confused and therefore couldnāt get into it so much.
I think Tom did an awesome job. He made a super adorable nerd as Peter and he was a great babbling annoyance as Spidey. Iāve discussed this with my askblog buddies a lot, that Tom seems like heāll have a good balance of being able to play both Peter and Spider-Man convincingly. (Consensus on previous movies is that Garfield was a better Spider-Man and Tobey was a better Peter.)
Also due to the nerd babble infodumping during battle, the general verbal awkwardness, and the whole āit dialed my senses up to 11ā³Ā bit, I headcanon Tomās spidey as being on the autistic spectrum. I hope that continues to play out in Homecoming. I know they wouldnāt make it canon, but damn if that wouldnāt make me happy as a clam.
