A WOMEN FROM THE UK FIGHTS BACK BODY SHAMMERS WITH A SMILE
It seems like on a daily basis we hear about women being body shamed on the internet whether it be a celebrity or an everyday women. We at Fashom want to put a stop body shaming of any kind.
Harriet Kinton was in a local shop when she heard 2 store employees make rude comments to each other about her appearance. The 2 employee did not know that Kinton had overheard their conversation.
Instead confronting the 2 individuals in the heat of the moment, Harriet Kinton decided to take to her Facebook page to share her public body shaming experience.
On Kinton’s Facebook page she wrote the following and attached the photo of the outfit she was wearing on that day: “Just so you know, your words didn’t hurt me. The looks you gave me did not either. I do feel slightly saddened that you think it’s ok to speak about another female, or in fact anyone, in that way. I don’t believe you gained anything from it apart from looking a little bit silly when you realized I heard you.”
Way to take the high road, Harriet!
