Some context for people who aren't very familiar with MLP:
Every pony is born with a cutie mark making them a "blankflank". At some point, trypically in childhood, a pony discovers their special talent, earning their cutiemark. Getting your cutiemark is considered a major life milestone; because it's a major part of discovering your self.
