If anyone follows my main, or talks to me outside of tumblr, you probably already know that I got the opportunity to get in on a closed beta for Devilian over the weekend Overall, the beta looks awesome, and aside from the sexualization of the evoker and cannoneer classes, the characters look great too! So, uh, lemme tell you a bit I learned while I was playing it (my highest level in the beta is a level 24 so, I don't know much but I'll tell you what I do!) The Classes Overall, not very customizable, but still, it's a beta, and even at that, I wouldn't be too disappointed if the game was released with the options it has now. Evoker - one of two female classes, seems to be in the sort of Mage-like position in the game - mature looking woman, looks kickass, only complaints are that her boobs do the jiggle thing (I don't understand why they need to do that, but, whatever, I guess it's just their time they used to program boob movement) and that outfits lie on the skimpy side (I'd like it better if their were options as to exactly how much more/less you want on your character? Let the player control how impossibly impractical their outfits are?) Shadowhunter - one of two male classes - lanky, muscled character - looks a lot like an assassin-type character (he functions that way too, I believe) Cannoneer - second of the female classes - cute, small girl who carries around a huge rifle - she's badass and I love playing as her, the only thing I don't like is the fact that her dresses are actually far too short to be dresses. Berserker - second of the male classes - Big and BUFF - He's the tank type of the game Gameplay The gameplay is actually fairly easy to understand, at first I was overwhelmed by the amount of buttons I could use and/or had to use but I got it down quickly The thing I liked most about it (call me lazy if you want) is that there's an autorun feature, which means that the computer will automatically set you on a course to the places you need to go! I don't like running back and fourth to and from places, and I don't like wasting time at the screen doing so. I mean, I still have to sit there and wait to get there, but at least I have a little time to sit and go through my inventory or whatever else I might need to do. Battles I found out very, very quickly that potions are a must if you intend to not die a whole lot or run away from battle. More often than not, I found myself forking over my hard earned fortune to revive! But after I figured out the mistakes I was making during battle, and getting a better strategy going, I got to survive a it more. I really like the 'find party' feature for dungeons, as, I really like playing co-op in parties. I find myself getting behind lot, but I usually make the space up fairly quickly. Overall, Devilian is so far, a really, really good rpg by my standards, and I highly, highly recommend playing it once it releases in open beta, and once it releases for good. I got addicted to it over the weekend, and I'm not sure how I'll survive until open beta!
