It’s barely 11 in the morning and I found myself longing for aperitivo or even boozy brunch after seeing these photos from @orvilles.berlin, taken during a lovely afternoon with my dear @uteschirmack. 💖 The café / apéro spot can be found in Tempelhof Airport complex and was the bar of the former Allied Hotel. Perfect for aviation and history junkies, the place will definitely take you back to the 1950s. You can still see the classic, wooden bar with the stickers posted by its patrons. . I’m not the biggest fan of aubergines so take it from me when I say their Parmigiana di Melanzane is a must try. There’s no scrimping on the cheese and the tomatoes just bind everything together so well. The milky burrata comes with the sweetest cherry tomatoes, you’d think you grew them yourself 😉, and the rosemary garlic bread is the perfect partner to their negroni. . It’s worth the trip to this side of the city, especially on Thursday when they have live music. It’s also a great spot to have a meal after doing the Tempelhof Airport tour – a must for every expat/diplomat in the city interested in history.
