Super excited with our new coffee collection from Ethiopia in collaboration with my dear friend @heleannageorgalis Learn a little bit more about Sidama with us! #Repost @miamidotcoffee with @make_repost ă»ă»ă» đ§đ”đČ đŠđ¶đ±đźđșđź đđŒđșđČ âTraditional Sidama Houses are amazing to seeâ. With its pointy top, the dome is designed to shed heavy rainfall and provide airflow and protection from the blistering sun. For more than a thousand years, Bamboo played a vital role in the rural economies of East Africa. Still, the indiscriminate clearing of natural bamboo forests has resulted in losing natural resources and many of the traditional building skills. Most of the houses have two entrances, a back and a front entrance. The back entrance is meant for use by the cattle and sheep while the front entrance by the people. Traditionally the house has three parts; the residential, the cooking space, and the âArkataâ for a cattle and crop store. This is called âVernacular architectureâ, a term used to categorize a construction method using traditional knowledge and ingenious locally available resources to address local needs. This type of architecture provides highly responsive techniques for addressing climatic constraints and shows high adaptability and flexibility. The Sidama people live close to the land and are closely connected to the earth spiritually. They are peace-loving people by nature and by geography. There is a high value attached to livestock by the Sidama, among whom a person without cattle is not regarded as a fully-grown social person but as an outcast. We feel blessed to had had the chance of spending our time with some Sidama families, sharing a meal, and of course, celebrating life with the traditional coffee ceremony. To pay tribute to these wonderful people, their way of life, and their land. We join forces with @heleannageorgalis to offer a collection of coffees that express the best of this region and its different nuances. . . . ethiopiancoffee #ethiopianhouses #bensa #sidama #coffee #miamicoffee #specialtycoffee #coffeepeople #ethiopianpeople #miami #florida #specialtycoffeeroasters #specialtycoffee (en Coffea School) https://www.instagram.com/p/CG4xAT3ByT3/?igshid=x47970a9ynnj
