Can we just talk about scaling for a minute? Scaling is a tool, a very useful and beneficial part of an athlete's arsenal. I've been injured so have been forced to scale high impact movements, running, jumping etc.. That kind of scaling is sensible and necessary right?🤷♀️ Right! 👍 Many athletes who can rx have an issue voluntarily scaling outside of injury, why? 🤔 Mindset 😉🧠 This morning's workout was a benchmark wod, "Top Gun". The brief on the workout can be summarised as "full send and suffer" 🥵 My lower back was MEGA tight after training earlier in the week. I am more than capable of rx'ing the workout but chose to scale for two reasons: 1. To preserve my already tight lower back and prevent unnecessary injury. 2. To ensure I hit intensity and the intention of the workout. Glad I did, no shame, fitness was achieved and I'm good to train another day 😁 💪👍 #crossfitmindset #mindsetrxd #scaling #benchmarkwod (at Unit 4 CrossFit Preston) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTpxkHlrNmp/?utm_medium=tumblr
