Our contract with Queensland Health is fucked over and also I don’t want to ever work in paeds so that’s fine. Usually in uni you don’t get a paeds placement unless you’ve expressed you wanna do it or you’re lucky (and by lucky I mean everyone else thinks you’re lucky.)Â
Lmao, definitely not, we started placements five weeks into the degree! I’ve been in a hospital the entire time (and our shifts are every week), that’s why I chose my school bc they offered placements at hospitals from first year which is amazing and everything I want. And all of next year is placement so of course we’ll get others haha.

Nah, not my school - we currently only have 8 children’s hospital placements available (like only 8 people can do it) bc when our children’s hospital closed and combined to make the only children’s hospital in Brisbane, my scHOOL DIDNT FUCKIN THINK TO TRY AND SECURE SPOTS???? But also I don’t really want a children’s placement, I just want emergency haha :(

it surprises me more that this was in response to that recording in particular - i tend to prefer the music-backed recordings (available in the audio tag) because i made an effort on those to change my cadence and drop some of the aussie twang, but the turkey story was more impromptu and is closer to my regular speaking voice. so to have that response to that particular recording is a real kindness <3
