to the untrained eye m████ looked calm, maybe a little sad. but frank was someone who could read him like a book, know who's there from a 'look in his eye'; and he'd know how fucking anxious he was. he was one wrong thing away from going postal.

He gave his trademark grunt, returning the kiss in more of a head bump, glancing up at Mason. Something was wrong. He could tell. The only other time Mason had looked like this was after being told his “best friend” had been dead for nearly a year and he’d been hallucinating.

He shifted, turning his chair to face him. Bell. The kid had always been a little off his rocker, but so was everyone.

“Yeah? What’s up?”
