some of my favorite hellblazer panels so far as i’ve been chipping away at it
(if you can’t tell i’m currently at the family man arc im a baby fan 😭)
here’s some of my thoughts but Heads up for hellblazer spoilers
The story is so fucking good delanos done an excellent job with worldbuilding and taking the story in directions i didnt expect. Yeah sure it involves magic and the occult, but it feels very grounded in realism and maturity and it makes everything very believable and captivating. And genuinely i love john so much.
A lot of mischaracterizations regarding him would be solved so damn quick if people just, read hellblazer.He’s a humanitarian through and through and a complex character. he cares about kids, minorities, and cares for and is a part of queer people. he’s not even a violent guy he hates firearms and can’t even fight or hold a knife to save his life. (he hates bread crumbs all over his flat…)
the family man arc is defo my favorite one so far but the original sins is also a close second. I think it’s the fact that we get more of a glimpse into john’s personal life and family (thomas constantine when i catch you thomas constantine i am your biggest opp) and we get to see john have very raw emotions that are usually deflected via humor and sarcasm.
i also….love that suit. blue suit i miss you blue suit. maybe ill draw blue suit john 👀
i also just read issue 29 while getting my first tattoo :D! but yeah i’m having a lot of fun with reading it hehehe
