Each of these patch boards are mile stones, markers of change along the journey. The 2020 may not result in as many patches, but it is sure to result in the best times with the best people! I love my ruck crew! Every patch on the completed 2019 board represents real work & good times with real good friends. I stopped broadcasting my fitness goals in 2019 because I kept missing the mark more often than I liked. But a speech by Jacko Willink came across my feed this week and reminded me that declaring intent helps resolve and allows true friends to offer useful accountability. So here I am, yet again, pursuing GORUCK Tough. 94 days from now, I'll ruck up once again with my crew and the desire to patch after 12 hours, give or take. Only time will tell if discipline or comfort will rule the day. The companion Light and 15k Star Course will follow, of that I have no doubt. I've learned that lesson on more than one occasion: there is no excuse for missing those, save real injury, regardless of the outcome of the Tough.
