“Hey, babe, what should I wear to Bev’s party?” Eddie called. He dug through his closet, looking for an outfit. Beverly’s Christmas parties were always a huge success, and Eddie wanted to make sure he looked perfect. He pulled out a soft red sweater. “What about this?”
“I think you’ll like this one better.” Eddie turned to see his boyfriend, who was holding up the most hideous sweater he had ever seen in his life. A felt Rudolph adorned the entire puke-green front, light-up nose and all. Out of Rudolph’s mouth came a speech bubble: “Don’t be Rude-olph.” It looked itchy and ugly and Eddie absolutely refused to put it on.
“I am not wearing that.”
“Come on, Eds,” Richie pleaded. “It’ll be hilarious, everyone will love it!” He laid the sweater down on their bed carefully, making Eddie laugh.
“You somehow manage to break your glasses by headbanging too hard to “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but this you’re gentle with?” Eddie said in disbelief.
Richie waved off the remark. “Glasses can be replaced, Eddie my love, but this is vintage! A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!” Eddie rolled his eyes, looking at his boyfriend fondly. He honestly had no idea what went on in Richie’s head half the time, but he couldn’t love him more. If someone had told him in middle school that his gangly, geeky best friend whose sense of humor was almost exclusively “your mom” jokes was going to become the love of his life, he would’ve laughed in their face. It was true, though. He could never even imagine being with anyone else. It was Richie, always had been, always will be. Even if his sense of humor was still pretty much "your mom" jokes.
Eddie picked up the sweater from the bed. Richie’s eyes widened. “Are you going to--”
“Maybe.”

“Hey, guys!” Eddie entered Bev’s house cheerfully, holding a bottle of champagne. The Losers all converged on him at once.
“Hey, Eddie!” Bev greeted him, pulling him into a hug.
“Wh-wh-what are you wearing, E-eddie?” Bill asked.
Eddie looked down at the ugly Rudolph sweater. “Oh, this? Isn’t it the cutest thing?” He did a model’s spin for the group, laughing. “Richie got it for me. He’s the best boyfriend ever!” The Losers looked at him skeptically.
“What could Richie possibly have done to get him to do this?” Mike whispered to Stan. Stan shrugged.
“Hey, where is Richie, by the way?” Ben asked, just now realizing Eddie’s boyfriend hadn’t followed him in.
Eddie smiled devilishly. “He’s coming.” His friends exchanged nervous glances.
Sure enough, Richie showed up five minutes later, dressed head to toe in a woolen elf outfit--pointy shoes with bells included. Eddie couldn’t contain his laughter. “My boyfriend, lady and gentlemen!”
“Oh, god, Rich, that’s really bad!” Bev exclaimed, joining Eddie in his laughter.
Richie grinned, shaking his head and causing the bell on his hat to jingle. “It may be bad, but I got Eddie to wear this sweater! In public!” Richie said triumphantly.
“Don’t think your torture is over yet, babe,” Eddie said, smirking. “Bev, didn’t you say that all your college friends were coming over tonight?”
At Bev’s affirmative nod and grin, Richie’s jaw dropped. “What?”

richie’s usually the only one who can convince eddie to take his binder off on a bad day
eddie finds a lot of comfort in richie’s big shirts
eddie’s always so supportive of richie’s music career
he tries to go to as many shows as possible and always listens to his music/ hypes it up on social media
he’s pretty active w richie on social media bc he tries to stay out of the public eye

richie’s also very adamant about eddie taking care of himself
he’ll make sure his boy ices after practices and games and stretches afterwards
he also give him back rubs and massage his sore muscles after a particularly grueling practice
when they go cross country for a tournament richie makes sure to tag along
they stay in a nice hotel up in New York
he cheers eddie on the entire time, making sure he feels supported
eddie practically runs in to his arms after a day of volleyball and is carried back to the hotel
richie lets him lay on the bed while he starts a hot bath with epsom salt
and eddie’s just soaking w richie sitting on the edge of the tub

and eddie’s practically in tears at this point
richie pulls him out of the tub and wraps him in a fluff blanket, pressing kisses all over his body
She is so damn funny. She is strong, independent, but also knows when to ask for help. She is selfless and determined and silly. She holds my hand when I am down and helps support me when I need it. She has the most beautiful brown eyes I’ve ever seen. They remind me of well made hot cocoa. She is extremely smart but she doesn’t believe that about herself. She wants to go to graduate school to study macro biology and human anatomy. She’s really interested in how the body works and behaves with stimuli. I know she could do anything she puts her mind to.
12. do you have an ideal ‘type’? what would they be like?
I do. While all girls are beautiful and I have dated girls of all body types. My ideal girl can best be described as a soccer girl. Thick thighs, strong, athletic. I seem to prefer girls with long hair. I also like taller girls but I’m 5′6 and everyone I’ve dated has been shorter than me. My current GF is shorter than me by like an inch but I’m constantly slouching so we both forget until I decide to stand up straight.
15. what’s the best thing about liking girls?
Honestly girls are amazing. There are obvious flaws, as there are with any relationship, and there are a lot of societal expectations for girls to be cagey, passive aggressive, shit like that. I’ve dated girls who unfortunately adhered to that kinds stuff. But girls on the whole are so fucking nice and soft. Soft skin, soft hair. Absolute angels, honestly. The best part, though, is just that feeling you get when you’re a WLW who’s finally embraced yourself and you can let yourself love and appreciate women both for looks and genuine qualities. Theres this really rough patch almost all WLW go through where we’re terrified that our attraction to women is objectifying and threatening due to a whole bunch of shit I wrote a 20 page analysis on HMU if you wanna read it. There’s way less objectification (in my opinion) with WLW so once you accept that part of yourself it becomes a very holistic and inclusive love of women. Its a very nice and soft feeling.
