The first of what I informally called the "green notebook" stories. These are all fantasy novels set in the same world, which I handwrote mostly in class in high school.

In this one, an evil usurper took the throne a few years back, and is collecting mages around him to protect against threats. He summons our heroine, who's known to have a talent for scrying, but is NOT known for her talent at mind-reading, and who has been training to be a spy. She uses her magical talents to both help and hinder the king and ALSO ends up fake dating a friend of hers in order to save his life.

i hate his stupid ass but tywin is a really compelling character to me!! the way cersei is still terrified of him as a grown woman with children of her own who is queen regent of the seven kingdoms makes me insane. the way he resents and dismisses jaime after so many tyrion pov chapters tell us that jaime is his perfect golden boy, pride of his house, shining beautiful eldest son. I JUST REALLY LOVE THE LANNISTERS SM!!! they're my third favorite house but it's a tight squeeze.

i also would like to form some more specific thoughts about tywin's resentment of tyrion being channeled into a possessive sexual abuse. from his proxy rape of tyrion via his orchestrated gangrape of tysha to his rape of shae after tyrion's trial. i don't have more specific thoughts at this moment but it's something i've been really thinking about. perhaps an opportunity for another yellow pages length post in the near future.

There's a little cabal of NiF fans who comment on my fanfics in an effort to get me doing NiF (This makes it sound like I don't find it genuine. I do! The liveblog draw is in fact there as a carrot and I do not get hurt when people use it as such.) and I'll be damned if it's not entertaining thus far! It's so screwball in moments while simultaneously having at least a handful of really interesting ideas that I'm hoping will develop. Makes it fun. I can laugh about Cunty Ear Cuff and his Cunty Ear Cuff, while also being like, 'hey look at the dynamic between these two and the level of resignation CEC has about the fact that Mei is going to push himself to his death. This is very interesting, what do we think is the history between those two, etc?"

It also helps that so far the audience for it is very fun! It's such a boost to a show in my mind when people are engaged and excited about it, it makes me engaged and excited about it!
