Over the summer, we experienced a 2 month drought where no rain came at all. Combine that with a record setting heatwave, for the Pacific NW, that’s not ordinary. Where I live there are many trees, bushes, and plants. It was heartbreaking to watch as they withered, turned brown, and broke down. Summer is the favorite season for many, but not for me. I’m beginning to like it even less as each one passes. Now Autumn is here and it makes me happy. Today we start a 10 day weather stretch of rain which is absolutely great. I’m slightly emotional as I see nature begin to bounce back from the harsh summer, and of course it’s inspiring too. I suspect this one of the reasons why landscape artists do what they do. I’ll never greet the rain with negativity. It’s a bringer of life. These photos were taken this morning as I walked around my house and neighborhood, getting soaked in the rain, and loving it. 🔷 #rain #pnw #beautifulrain #autumn #landscape #landscapephotography #photography #earlymorning #oregonartist #pnwart #wscranmore #artinspo #nature #walkintherain #artist #creativeprocess (at Milwaukie, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVQSxqUFkEL/?utm_medium=tumblr
