Spartan Dallas Ultra 31.6 miles 3700 elevation gain total 13:20:00 It was slow going but I made it. Yay! Beautiful day, like a summer bonus. Had so much fun running the first half with Audrey Meeker. Such a terrific person! Huge congrats to the Beasts and others who completed their races with flying colors...Brandon Chinn, Alex Rooke, Ericka Dorr Everly, Jonathan Butler, Corné Clark, Jodi VanInwegen Candice Thornton Day Lourdes Alamilla Bernhard Thank you to the fella from South Texas who ran with me the last mile or so. My feet weren't happy and I was really ready to get to that fire jump and you really helped keep me plugging along and kept my spirits up. Ooooo...and big thanks to the "tall guy" who saved me from the terrible spider. My hero! Loved seeing the ranchers dog at the barbed wire, who had been "running amok" all day according to the staff member. She was trying to keep him there with her so they could collect him up. I bet that was a super fun day for the hound! Made my day seeing him.....he immediately went upside down for belly rubs! Lynn Hauka, it was so nice seeing your smiling face at the timing tent and getting my belt buckle from you. That was the cherry on top of the Sundae! Yancy Culp......huge shout out to you and your programming. It has made such a difference! They say there aren't hills in Dallas, but they found a way to use what was there to the fullest extent. The elevation training made it go pretty darn smooth and it didn't feel too bad. Need to work on my speed next....your programming is getting me there step by step and it's so exciting to see the changes! Anyway, it was a terrific event, beautiful day, and wonderful people!
