Beach runs w no cell service is healing asf
A present honestly
My phone got flooded during my prayer/meditation on the shore and the waves just came up ashore. I didn’t pout about it I was blessed enough to have my phone working the whole time till I got home.
I ordered a new one but they got a hold on my account for 1k so my spending is also restricted which means I’ll only be doing what I NEED to do.
Looking for good sports bras w no tan lines. Do they exist? Actually a full gear set w no tan lines would be blessed.
My Fanny pack is too big but it’s doing the job rn
Got so hot today I asked the hotel lobby for scissors to cut my leggings into shorts. I love them. They are rugged but that’s my business
I feel so good I think I’m gonna go ahead and run back after this cool down at 12;07
That’s all folks
Running and smoothie moodboard

On a good day, when I run, the voices in my head get quieter until it's just me, my breath, and my feet on the sand.

We started out Sunday with a ripper frost. It was white and cold out so I took my time getting out the door for my Sunday run. I ran down the beach even though the tide was coming in. The sand was soft but the view was awesome and there was plenty happening so I persisted and ran down to the surf club. I ran a short stretch of the dunes track and then headed home via the streets of the neighbourhood. Hubby had been busy in the garden sorting out some frost protection for the Mandarine tree. It was still cold out so I did not linger too long. I headed inside to foam roller my tired legs in the sun. Slow run but that’s fine I was just happy to get out there.
Sunrise, sunburn, sunset, repeat.
A Brief Overview of 7 Months (cont.):
We ran and ran and ran. Almost back to my pre-injury speeds but running grateful every single time. I spent almost every morning of our Topsail trip waking up around 6:45am and hitting up a 3-4 mile beach run while Bryce fished and it was quite literally perfect every time, even when I felt like I was running through a heavy wall of thick air. Heh.Â
I spent a few days in New Orleans for the NACE conference which was great! The conference left a little bit to be desired but what a cool location; we were walking distance from a lot of the fun touristy things and got to see a lot of great live music and drink some good drinks while walking along the street. A few of my former colleagues from UVA + Red Ventures were there which made for a fun reunion week.
On Memorial Day weekend everyone was out of town so I took a day trip to Williamsburg which was nice. Had some good food on my own and read and stumbled upon a lot of neat happenings. 10/10 would recommend solo travel dates with yourself.
In April I saw Elyse Kopecky talk at a Women, Wine, and Wellness event which was so fabulous. It was right downtown where I work so I just skipped out of the office for some free food (all recipes from her cookbook with Shalane Flanagan!) and wine and got to hear a great story about her journey.
In March we had our first wedding of the year with 2 more to come in the next 2 weeks!
We golfed, we read, we camped out in Louisa - me on the porch swing with a book and Bryce on the lawn mower.
IT SNOWED in... February? I think? A good snow that had everyone working from home in pajamas and sipping warm coffee.
From snow to soft serve. A perfect summer night after our vacation (sob) eating pizza and stumbling upon a local concert!
