Castle Altnussberg, most likely built in the 12th century, it was demolished in the 15h century on the orders of the Bavarian archduke Albrecht IV. of Wittelsbach. In 1468 several nobles from the Bavarian Forest, formely unified in the banned “Böcklerbund” (lit. ram’s league) waged war against the archduke to protect their rights. They failed and their castles were razed.
The way the walls of this castle are restored allows an unique view into different phases of the construction. The cistern is also a sight to see.
