Unlike the swords of the elite, axes were weapons of the common man, forged from sturdy iron and wood. Yet in the hands of a Norse warrior, a simple axe became a force of nature — capable of splitting shields, breaking armor, and claiming glory on distant shores.
Many Viking axes featured a bearded blade, a design with a lowered edge that made the weapon both versatile and fearsome. This allowed warriors to hook shields, pull foes from horseback, or deliver devastating, cleaving blows.

So I had cancer when i was little. That piece of information is necessary to understand this story. My dad always told me he and my sister had similar dreams about being in a battle while i was extremely ill. Today I watched a movie with my parents in which a man saved his wife from hell, while trying not to lose himself in hell. And that movie was basically about how love between souls, a strong love can save a person from even hell. When the movie ended I saw my dad break down in to tears in a way that I have never seen him cry. I’ve only seen him cry once. Only three tears. But this time is was much longer and much more heartbreaking. Come to find out in those “battles” he and my sister were fighting for my soul and obviously won their battle, because I’m here today. And i don’t know if you guys believe in things like this but I always have and watching this movie, hearing his story, and seeing him breakdown right in front of me just makes me believe in it even more. And this is kind of a pointless post but there is a nice story somewhere in all my ramblings.
