So it turns out that the fear I have of looking up at buildings is called batophobia. It's hilarious that I live in NYC and I can't stand to look up because I feel like I'm gonna get crushed by a falling building. It says it's caused mostly from experiences of someone being hurt or stuck under a falling object during earthquakes or other incidents. I never had anything fall on me before? And I've only experienced a few earthquakes, once in Costa Rica and once when NYC had that huge one in 2010?
4. Batophobia- Fear of heights or being close to high buildings.
He is on the cube of shame.
Paranoia
Walking through the crowed streets I clutched my satchel with tendons tight and braced for a sudden flight to an unknown sanctuary. I constantly scanned the faces of the people while the horrible feeling of insignificance grew in the pit of my stomach. Dwarfed by the stolid metal buildings with their tinted unblinking windows, I painfully pick the safest way through the welter of vendors at every intersection. The rasping quibble of foreboding beeps and squawks attack my nerves in a tedious manner. The only resolve I have is the knowledge that the sooner the job is done, the sooner the malevolent garden of steel and trash could be left behind.
