Any thoughts on the Piraka species? I find it kinda bonkers that these guys used to rule most of the universe but we only see one of each species and they're all fishy.
Ok so that's the Barraki, not the Piraka. Easy mistake to make, the names are similar and they were antagonists in consecutive years, but conceptually they're the opposite.
Mild pedantry aside. I can't remember if there's a canon explanation for Kalmah's forehead-eye (and if there is it's probably post-canon Word of Greg stuff so I feel fine ignoring it) but I like to think his species just. Have three eyes. Also Mantax's whole "hide in the sand because ray" thing (which I might be making up but I swear that's like. His gimmick) makes me imagine that his species are from a desert.

"Wait ah tic! Dis ain't dah stink'n' Ignika!!"
"But the only way of ever finding out is to go there and see for yourself" is the kind of line you'd expect to hear in an adventure/horror/thriller movie trailer or video game, but it's from the 2007 BIONICLE Barraki promo commercial.
And then it follows it up with, "Now you think you may be wiser, but if you think your troubles are over, you'll soon find out they've only just begun."
Those lines hit way too hard for a toy commercial, but I'm glad they're in there.
🎶Here I am
I am lost in your land
And I hope you will be
Creeping in my soul
Shadows fall, let me out
Hear my call
And I'll always believe
Creeping in my soul🎶
