I think this baby okra might actually grow!
All other okra I planted have either wilted away as seedlings, or died after being transplanted; I planted a few directly into the soil, two came out, but remained tiny. And it's not unexpected, okra isn't meant to be grown here, the seeds were from china and I couldn't read the seed packet at all, they're obviously not used to this climate, I never grew them before so I got no idea what they need. All my prior knowledge was that they require heat to grow, but it's been heatwaves all the way, so heat was provided.
If I manage to grow even one plant, and harvest the seeds from it, I can plant those seeds next year, and the one after that, and so on, and what will happen after several generations is that the plant will get used to this climate, and be a better adapted version of herself every single year, and I would love that. Also I've never tried okra in my life, so I'm really rooting for this one!
