Bamboobies: Giving Your Girls Attention
No Iâm not talking about your little baby girls...Iâm talking about the girls youâve been up close and personal with since puberty which are most likely filling out your top right now. I donât know how it was for you, but my girls have been on a constant roller coaster since I got the positive reading on my home pregnancy test back at week 4. By week 6, I ditched my trusty Victoriaâs Secret underwire bras and swapped them for a no-wire stretchy/breathable Hanes bra. It wasnât sexy by any means - but it was far more comfortable. Fast forward to around week 15/16 and even the Hanes bras were starting to cause discomfort.
I mentioned this briefly in one of my very first posts, but my girls have been the most drastic change so far in my pregnancy - other than my bump of course. I always got breast pain before my periods - it was usually the first sign that Aunt Flo was coming. And they were one of the first signs that Baby G was setting up shop down there. But the consistent thing throughout my pregnancy so far has been that I am very aware of my breasts primarily because of either how quickly they grew or the constant discomfort I get from them. For starters, Iâve grown an entire cup size. I started my pregnancy a 34C, am currently a 36C/34D (as a 34D doubles for a 36C in a pinch!) and am pretty sure theyâre still growing.Â
Now I initially put off getting a maternity bra because I thought I could make do with a standard full cup, no-wire cotton bra. But I have to say once youâve grown a full cup size or more or your discomfort gets to the point where youâre regularly thinking about your breasts (as was my case)...you need to bite the bullet and get a good maternity bra. Traditional no-wire soft cotton bras are fine if you havenât grown that much and just want to avoid the discomfort of an underwire bra. But once you wear a good fitting maternity bra...youâll be wondering what took you so long. So, when the team at Bamboobies offered to send me their Yoga Nursing Brahhh, along with a tub of their Boob Ease nipple balm to test, I was here for it!
Iâve been wearing this bra for 24 hours and the one thing I notice is that I donât think about my breasts - itâs that comfortable. Actually there are many things I notice. First, the support on this bra is amazing. Itâs a soft stretchy rayon bamboo fabric so itâs not irritating to the skin. Then thereâs tons of reinforcement to make sure that your girls arenât jiggling all over the place. And we all know that super sensitive breasts + movement = torture. The support means your girls arenât moving and that youâll have less back or shoulder pain since their weight is more evenly distributed. In fact, I slept in this bra last night and it passed the Dori sleep test. Iâm a side sleeper but I tend to move a lot and our Yorkie furbaby sleeps with us. And he likes to snuggle and almost always flops down too close to my chest. So between my or his movements, I wake up a lot from hits to my chest. But last night...I slept amazing and only woke up for bathroom breaks.
Now if you are nursing, youâll love that this bra has front clasps at the top of the cups for easy access and comes with built in pads to prevent any âoopsâ leaks. Another added bonus is that this bra comes with an extender. So, if you find that youâve seriously grown now or once you start nursing, you donât necessarily have to run out and buy a new bra. Also, I will say, although I received this bra for free, the price is really reasonable. If youâve done any kind of maternity/nursing bra shopping, youâll know that the price tags can easily be $50 or more. At $29.99, this is definitely a worthy investment. Available in jet black (which I have) and hibiscus (hot pink), I think any mama-to-be or nursing mom should consider the Bamboobies nursing bra.
