I wasn’t able to get very into the plot or characters of this one my first go at it ten or twelve years ago. Replaying it now, I still can’t focus during the longer cutscenes. It’s still fun, just not my favorite. I like the gambit system and Balthier and Fran are kind of amusing. Having to buy licenses as well as buying the magic spell or technique AND actually learn the spell or technique seems a little excessive. Same with weapons and armor. I’ve yet to unlock all the parts to a “life” spell and I’m several hours in...
