The sun was ‘shining‘ on Ballaghaderreen this afternoon for the 2015 St Patricks Day parade, although there was a nip in the air.

The parade had over 40 floats, but unfortunately Kilmovee wasn’t represented this year, nevertheless it was a great afternoon and hundreds if not thousands of people turned out to support their schools,clubs and local businesses.  Well done to Tibohine NS who won…

Taoiseach Enda Kenny cut the ribbon on the 14 kilometre bypass just outside Ballaghaderreen at lunchtime today, and the new stretch of road opens to traffic this evening.

The €60 million bypass will improve journey times for motorists travelling the N5 from Westport towards Dublin, and will remove thousands of vehicles from travelling through Ballaghaderreen town centre every day.
