I really need people to stop waiting for a giant bat signal that tells them to be happy. Be happy now. Do the little things that make you happy. While you wait for the thing that's going to make you feel better, you're also allowed to be happy.

I grew up with a hoarder, and once I got my own home, I wasted so much time essentially reinventing the wheel while I tried to clean. Over the years I’ve picked up tips and tricks and hit on things that work and don’t work for me (and sometimes those things change).
One thing I’ve definitely learned about myself: I am not reward motivated.
Like, if I tell myself I can buy/do/make/whatever something if I only reach X goal...I decide I don’t want it that badly and nothing happens.
The kitchen is a particularly sore spot for me. We moved a lot when I was little, so a lot of stuff didn’t manage to accumulate, but kitchens can get bad fast, and the adult in the house was (is) a food hoarder.
I got a lot of little steps for keeping the kitchen clean, but this is maybe my best tip:
Bake something.
I meal prep once a week, which usually makes a big mess. If I wanted to make something to snack on through the week, I’d try to force myself to clean up the kitchen before I could start on it, and that always meant I was sore and tired and cranky and not up to baking.
However, if I baked something--not cookies, they require too much attention and bake too quickly, but brownies, coffee cake, banana bread, things like that--I could mix it up after I was done with the meal prep, toss it in the oven, and I could get everything put away, clear the counters, wash all the dishes, and wipe down the counters before it came out of the oven.
And then, when I was done cleaning, instead of making a new mess, I had fresh peanut butter and jelly bars or whatever to munch on, and the work was done for the day.
tomorrow marks the beginning of my 2 week break before band camp how shall i start it?
Made some vegan cookies with Harold! And they're so good!! Yuummmmm!!
Yayy! :)
True Blood S6E3 is finally online for me to watch (I'm in the UK) <3
and then later on, I'm going to some baking... because it's been such a long time since I properly baked :D I miss it!
Maybe a victoria sponge cake, or cornflake cakes, or flapjacks!
waiting for my mum to come home with the ingredients I've asked for :)
& then I need to watch some movies.. I have a list of about 20 to get through this summer. Shouldn't be hard.. i don't have much of a life tbh XD
oooo If the weather gets better, I'm gunna take some more photos of the baby bunnies <3
