AUs exist so people can explore different aspects of a character. That is *literally* the point of them. If you think they *have* to have the exact same job as in canon, and can *only* exhibit the exact traits you see in canon, that to me demonstrates a lack of imagination. Don't say you have nothing against AUs, but that they HAVE to exist within very strict confines. Because that, buddy, isn't an AU.
