Deciding to take a shortcut to one of the quieter alleys. less people, less noise and more peace. at least that was the plan y/n had in mind until she heard voices. to the h/c h/l girl it sounded like a bunch of boys around her age angry at something/someone. curiosity got the better of the young girl getting closer she could hear the voices much clearer now. she saw a taller boy , he was no more than 7 or 8 .. the other boy was smaller than the bully he looked about y/n’s age. The 6 year old girl couldn’t understand why the older kid would bother to pick on the blonde kid. “you talk too much,” the big one said. “bet you cry when you get dirt on your shoes.” the smaller boy her age never did anything he just kept his head low y/n curiously thought ‘why isn’t he doing anything ? doesn’t he know that boy is gonna hurt him?’ coming back to reality the h/c girl heard the older bully running his mouth off wherever it took him . ‘ugh.. give me a break he’s so annoying’ the youth rubbed her temples with her fingers. the bully continued to mock the smaller blonde kid and that made her blood boil. unable to take any more of this abuse y/n deliberately used her head to knock the older on the ground with force . the older boy groaned in pain rubbing the back of his head . usually y/n tries to stay out of harms way knowing that her parents hate it when she fights . but the young girl hates injustice and when things like that get to her it’s not a pretty sight to be around. the one time in preschool a kid made fun of her for bringing a plushy that looked like a pink bunny calling y/n “stupid” and the toy “ugly”. it was in the playground eren noticed his first friend was getting ready to cry but the sobbing never came . before that 4 year old boy could think of touching her toy she slapped that younger bully . and it wasn’t a light one either .. no , she slapped as hard as a preschooler could the boy did nothing but sob in that sandbox while the boy sobbed loudly . while y/n told them what happened . “Oi , who do you think you are ?! this boy didn’t do anything wrong ! “ “shut up!”pushing the 6 year old one the ground . The older kid was angry but he didn’t get a chance to hurt y/n . for a kid her size y/n made up for it by being quicker on her feet . and boy was she right the older kid was slow .. well slower than y/n . Kicking and punching his gut made him cry in pain . For what felt like ages the boy went at it with a 6 year old , the (h/c) girl had bruises and her lip was bleeding meanwhile the older kid was out of breath . “y-you give up yet? ha .. girls are so weak and stupid “. the blonde boy couldn’t help but be worried about about this girl who popped out of nowhere and picked a fight for someone bigger than her . “ I never give up .. because i was born into this world “ “besides you have no room to talk since you can’t stop shaking”. after that remark the older kid charged at y/n but the young girl was quicker all it took to end the fight was a swift kick and the bully was out cold . collecting herself she saw the boy who looked at her and she ran up to him crouching down . “Hey are you alright ? Did he hurt you? where does it hurt?” asking out of genuine concern the blonde boy shook his head “no .. i’m alright miss” “pfft .. miss i’m 6 years old i don’t think i’m that much older than you “.. the blonde you couldn’t help but notice that the h/c girl had a bright laugh . so he rubbed his head nervously confirming he’s six as well and that his name is armin .

“well armin i’m y/n , but why didn’t you defend yourself.. that boy bullied you because you never fought back .. are you really ok if you lose?” . puzzled at the boy who seemed kindhearted but also looked like he wouldn’t hurt a fly . “but i didn’t lose y/n” that made the girl’s eyes slightly widen and muttered a “huh?”. “because i didn’t run “ “interesting” “b-but why did you help ? you got hurt badly because you fought him”. “ armin , that’s a stupid question.. i helped because i wanted to .. it’s because i was born into this world”. “c’mon armin starting today i wanna be your friend .. you don’t fight back but you didn’t run away either .. to me that counts as something .. I’ll take you home !” armin nodded happily and showed y/n where he lives . ‘I guess i’ll have to visit dr. Jaeger again .. ugh mother’s going to kill me ‘.

Armin’s POV Current Time : Sometime After

Y/N’s death

Back inside the forest everything was still but y/n flinched when she heard the sound of a smoke signal. turning her head around she saw black smoke in the sky . “There’s a black signal right behind us !!”.. “It’s that thing that’s been chasing us from the right” eld proclaims right when they all hear levi’s orders . “Everyone, draw your swords. If that thing decides to show itself, we won't have any time”. they continue to gallop until a soldier flies in from afar. y/n and eren continue to stare when they finally witness the female titan charging up to them.“Run!” Levi orders once more . the female titan jumps through and breaks trees, causing eren and y/n to whimper in fright. the titan regains her balance and continues to go after them, staring down at Eren with a sadistic smile. “It's fast!.we can't get away from her inside this forest!” “It’s gaining up on us!” with both eld and gunther voicing their worries petra turns her head to levi and pleads . “captain can we switch to our ODM gear?.. Captain?”. just as the beast continues to go after them, soldiers come in and try to stop it. “Reinforcement from behind!”. She affirms while a soldier tries to reach her neck to go in for the kill . but the female titan was quick and smashed him against a tree while with the other soldier she grabbed the cable, causing him to back off before hitting him killing the innocent man. not once did sayuki bother to spare a glance at the horrific scene . over the years she’s grown used to her comrades dying left from right but it never made things easier for her to see it constantly. ‘ in a way it’s not much different than the underground .. just very different circumstances’ sayuki remembered plain as day that back there it didn’t take much to die in the underground ..with y/n looking at the back of her superior the 15 year old girl was an emotional mess . wanting nothing more than to lash out at the beautiful woman whose heart seemed to be cold as ice . ‘Lieutenant , how can you not bat an eye?! people are dying left from right because of that thing!’ y/n wanted nothing to take out all her anger at the woman in front of her but decided against it .although inexperienced she knew now wasn’t the time to be intensely emotional . nearly everyone watches in horror at the scene as petra, once more, pleads with Levi . “captain, please ! your orders!”. “Let’s do it!.. that beast is dangerous we need to take it down! “ with anger controlling olulo goes to unsheathe his blade mumbling “I’ll tear it to shreds”. “That fucking dumbass came walking into hell! .. you’re now chasing an expert group titan slayer” showing a smirk before turning his head forward . becoming an expert at restraining herself from voicing her intense emotions .. sayuki almost didn’t hear petra , eld, eren and y/n pleading to levi what his orders were . All it took was one single look for sayuki to understand what we wanted her to do. It’s been like that since they were children.. after they reunited after a few years of being separated . both made their bond strong enough to the point where they had immense trust and love in each other wouldn’t waver . while both weren’t perfect by any means, the first thing that happened was for the two of them to understand one another . Finally sayuki dared look back at the squad she could see the evident fear in their eyes . she looked at them with a face that practically screamed for the squad to ‘shut up’.

“Everyone cover your ears!!” taking heed of the lieutenants orders nearly everybody apart from levi looked at sayuki with confusion. she shoots the flare gun into the air . staring at levi’s 2nd in command with evident confusion as she brings out her flare gun that shot out a loud ear piercing noise making everyone cover their ears as they each hold their blades. But it didn't seem to work on the female titan, as it continued to move forward. ‘a noise grenade?!’ made eren and y/n raise a brow . as his lieutenant levi appreciated sayuki , knowing she’s not one to deliberately let people she cherishes down . if she somehow did let someone down she deeply cares for. sayuki takes it harshly. but she’s gotten better about that over the years ever since both them met again that day she nearly killed a man when kenny abandoned him at age 12. both looked back at the squad with them looking at their captain in anticipation what he had to say . the short woman let out a ‘phew’ . ‘well at least they’re quiet now ‘.. not sparing them another glance sayuki then turned to look at her captain . “ What is your job? To just let yourself be swayed by whatever you're feeling at the moment? No.. our squad's job is to keep this brat from getting a single scratch on him”. He looks turns back .. “Even if it costs our lives”. ‘so it wasn’t to keep watch on us ‘.. y/n thought for half a moment flicking her attention to her captiain . “we’re going to keep moving forward on our horses .. understand?” . nearly everyone heeded this order .. except eren. “wait, keep going? and for how long? it's right on top of us!”y/n gasps once seeing soldiers try to stop her once again. “again! the reinforcements! If we don't help, they'll be wiped out again!”. “Eren, eyes on the road!” Gunther shouts, making eren turn to him like he was insane. “Keep your pace up... Stay at top speed!” eld ordered but y/n was at a loss about these instructions . “ But, sir...Why?! If the levi swuad won’t defeat it then who will?” both teenagers then heard the sound of a soldier's last scream as he shouts to everyone again. “another one's dead... And maybe we could've saved him! One's still fighting... We could still make it!”. although y/n felt the same she gazed at him with a melancholy face . making contact with y/n he knew they both felt the same. “Eren, eyes on the road! Keep moving!” petra yells at the titan boy, looking at him as he turns to his attention to her frowning . “Are you saying for me to look away? to abandon my comrades and run?!”. eren yelled horrified that they’d leave a fellow soldier to die petra swallowed the lump in her throat forcing herself to speak “Yes, that's right! obey captain levi’s orders !”.

y/n shook her head terrified that the casualties were increasing “ I don't understand why we're leaving them to die! Or why he won't explain! Why?!”. She screams. Oluo looks at her and yells “ that’s because the captain decided the reason shouldn’t be explained. you two just don't understand because both of you are still! newbies If you get it, then shut the hell up and obey!” disagreeing with that mindset eren sheathes his blades and raises his hand to his face . ‘I can fight.. why do y/n and i need to trust them?’ when he saw how y/n was looking at him, she saw how he brought his hand to his mouth to bite it. not sure what she should think or even do the (h/c) girl with (h/l) short hair looked ahead conflicted ‘I swore i’d protect him even at the cost of my own life but .. what should we do?!”. “What are you doing, Eren?!”eren looks at petra, his hand near his mouth as she looks at the boy frowning. “you're only allowed to do that if your life is in danger.. You promised us!”. He only spares her a quick look before adjusting his hand . “Eren!” . sayuki understood how petra felt but her and levi both knew about his true nature .. a monster. it was now or never sayuki opted to voice her opinion on the “titan brat“ “I wouldn’t blame you, if that’s what you really want , then go for it. both levi and I can tell. he’s a real monster. but eren listen, you are not inherently evil . It doesn’t even matter what you’d use to stop him. no matter what cage you’d confine him in he’ll never submit to anybody. the difference between your decision and ours is experience. you don't have to rely on that. choose. whether to believe in yourself or believe in the survey corps and levi who are willing to put their lives on the line for you. I don't know which way is better ... I never have. should i act on my own instincts or decide to put myself in the hands of my comrades and trust them. either way there isn’t any guarantee.. in the end you choose what you choose. if afterwards your regrets are at a minimum then good for you”.

eren and y/n stares at the back at sayuki’s raven haired head in complete shock . even if the speech wasn’t meant for y/n she still looked ahead at a loss for words . not knowing what to think of this y/n pondered for a moment ‘ I doubt the lieutenant will ever tell us of her past.. she strikes me as someone who keeps to themselves like captain levi .. lieutenant sayuki you are quite the mystery’. truth be told no sayuki would never talk about her past. not because she wants to uphold the image for what the civilians see her as. she just didn’t the need to bring up her past. looking back sayuki had an idea that levi might be the same way as her. glancing both at her captain/lover for a short moment she remembered the time levi had been promoted captain . naturally sayuki was ecstatic but back then she couldn’t help but worry about the future . (flashback)

“sayuki ,remember what erwin told us on our first expedition?” nodding up and down she said the same words that both decided to live by “live with no regrets” how could she ever forget? that same day she lost her 2nd family bushy brows gave them a new purpose . “levi i trust erwin’s decision and i trust the team you decide to lead as their captain “.. sayuki felt a pang in her chest at the thought she’d have less time with levi ‘but it’s not the end of the world.. i’ll still see him’. “tch .. you’re a real pain in my ass yuki”.. ‘y-yuki?!’ showing him her pouting face levi slung her body over his shoulder. even if she couldn’t see it levi’s ears were red from her pout that he’s always found adorable . right when sayuki was about to protest from basically being manhandled her raven haired lover spanked her ass which she responded with a yelp . and threw the short woman on the bed in his new room . running his hair with his fingers clearly showing he was annoyed sayuki furrowed her brows with concern . levi’s greyish-blue eyes looking at her intensely looked at her with concern that much she could tell.. as for why she had no clue . “damn it yuki , you didn’t even let me finish .. for gods sake you mess with my head my cute dumbass”. his wording was rough but sayuki knew her lover isn’t the type to use pretty words .. but that didn’t matter.. not to her..in her heart she knew he was that same grumpy but awkward man that she fell for . “ I want you on my squad as my “second in command”. erwin said that their rank would rise up to lieutenant.. i’ll decide on the other members another time . i didn’t pick you just for your pretty face .. i know how you are as a scout i need someone who’s sharp and quick on their feet. you were already talented with odm gear before we joined . i still remember the times you’ve nearly killed a few of those pricks in the underground.. i already know i can trust and rely on your strength too . back then before we met “them” i don’t know how to explain it but when that scum bag nearly killed you something “awakened “ in me “ sayuki nodded she understood what he was saying . “yeah i remember , it was like you became faster and stronger “ . “i want to protect you sayuki-“.. unable to finish verbally sayuki could see pain in his eyes .. “levi i never want to be away from you .. especially since i’ve lost so many people that were important to me i’m happy that you trust and believe in me . thank you for reminding me what bushy brows said about no regrets and i’m positive i won’t regret this”..(flashback ends ) ‘levi you were the one who reminded me to live by erwins words back then .. and i’ll keep doing just that .. i trust you and erwin’. while levi kept silent for sayuki to talk sense into those “shitty brats”. It wasn’t all that hard to figure out that those two were passionate even if their emotions got the better of them . ‘but that girl , she reminds me of you’. personality wise both are different but if anybody ignored that sayuki and y/n are loyal and protective of their loved ones whether that person was stronger than them or not . and if he was being honest levi was damn proud of sayuki . when she can calmly think things through the raven haired believes that his lieutenant is better at using her words to get through to others.

Eren blinks rapidly and shoots his head over to Petra's bitten hand as soldiers come in and try to distract the female titan. with the female titan gaining up on them levi called eren to tell them his answer “Eren! c’mon make up your damn mind !!”.. “Eren”.. y/n showed her lover a soft smile letting him know she’s with him mo matter what he chooses. “I’M WITH YOU!!”. Sayuki didn’t say much after knocking some sense into the “titan freak”. however , levi saw a smile of relief on her face .. hearing a scream both y/n and eren looked back, watching as the female titan threw the body of a soldier against a tree while she kept running after everyone. both y/n and eren quickly turned their heads away before they closed their eyes and clenched their jaws the young couple felt sorry they couldn’t help their fellow comrade. as they moved on the female titan started to charge up, running faster than ever before.looking back sayuki then turns to levi “Target is accelerating!.. captain your orders! “ “Go! We'll outrun it”.. levi orders while eren glances behind him. ‘It's impossible to outrun it... If we keep running away, it ll stomp us all flat!’ turning his head away from the upcoming titan he looks at each of the members.

‘ It’s true that we might all die, but everyone else chose to move on even if it meant leaving our comrades behind.. Captain Levi has been looking forward this whole time.. the lieutenant and the others believe and trust him so i’ll believe in them too !’ both simultaneously thought with determined looks on their faces y/n and eren decided to trust the levi squad. y/n looks up to see that the female titan is reaching out for eren.. close to grabbing the boy. as the squad continues the female titan tries to stomp but it stops in its tracks seeing many wires ready to hit her..
