The Piscina Mirabilis, built under Augustus (27 BC - 14 AD). It's the biggest known cistern built by ancient Romans (15 metres high, 70 metres long and 25 metres wide), entirely dug out of the tuff hill.

Sulle coste italiane centinaia di lidi precludono la discesa al mare ai liberi bagnanti e vietano di prendere il sole sui vasti suoli che occupano. Delinquenti che impediscono a madri di neonati di portare il biberon in spiaggia. E i paganti fanno a gara, sulle coste nostrane, per conquistare i loro posti al sole in prima fila, in località superaffollate e prive di spazi liberi. Luoghi in cui paghi anche le docce, l’acqua calda e l’aria che respiri.
Qui a Creta, al mare, la spiaggia è libera come il mare. Libera come deve essere.
E se vuoi il comfort di un ombrellone e qualche sedia vieni a un beach bar, ti accomodi e in cambio paghi una consumazione.
