Not everyone buys into their mental health. Not everyone will be interested in sorting out their mental health, but where we may have been more proactive with our mental health, through Covid-19 we have changed, but we can still get back.

Depression which not everyone sees as a mental health issue, is one of the leading causes of mental disability. According to the WHO, suicide among 15-29-year-olds is the fourth leading cause of death, and who die prematurely as much as two decades early, although suicide doesn’t just affect those groups. Suicide touches all groups and families.

As someone who deals with a physical, mental and emotional disability, I am aware of how much more work there needs to be done. Increased investment is necessary on all fronts, so that authorities can do their job without the added pressures and stress. Awareness and understanding in society, is important.

The more understanding around mental health, the less stigma there will be, but we all need to start working together. It’s not enough to hear and turn a blind eye, because someone else’s concern, doesn’t concern us, or to ignore mental health.

Efforts still need to be made so there is equal access to quality mental health care and treatments, for research to improve existing treatments for mental disorders, while improving existing treatment. Mental health is a lottery and in Covid-19 it’s hit hard.

Also, if you have money, you can have access to mental health, without it, you can wait months or even years, for access to the same treatment. The gap between those with access to care and those needed caring is like night and day. Also, effective treatment remains extremely low.

The WHO launched the WHO Special Initiative for Mental Health (2019-2023). A universal Health Coverage for Mental Health to ensure access, quality, and affordable care, for 100 million more people in 12 priority countries. Giving up on mental health is giving up on yourself and why would you do that? You all get one crack at life, and you're a long time dead. Instead, you should be working on getting mental health back on track, staving off illness and turning life around.

Very excited to be back ON travelling to show the best of Portugal!! We renewed the certification “Clean & Safe” created by the Tourism of Portugal bureau and the DGS – Directorate-General for Health and “Safe travels” by World Travel & Tourism Council to distinguish business which are compliant with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other possible infections.  For bookings, we are offering date flexibility to postpone or refund full deposit in case you need to cancel plus insurance with COVID-19 coverage. Some measures in place:

-       Mandatory use of mask inside transportation, indoor spaces and outdoor areas only when you can’t keep the 2 meters safety distance;

-       Small private group experiences;

-       Availability of alcohol-gel;

-       Keep the safety distance;

-       Reinforcement of the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of transport. What we know for now:

-       EU and Schengen countries travellers will be able to visit Portugal after May 17 but some might need to do a 14 day isolation period depending from the local covid19 cases numbers;

-       UK travellers will be able to visit Portugal after May 17 without the need to quarantine on the return;
