Chapter Seven

âDoes it hurt?âÂ
Niko had hoped he would have been left by himself, but no, apparently the torture was not over just yet. He sat on the couch of the sitting room, hugging his knees tight to his chest.
Even from the look of the room, Niko could tell Martyn was a goddamn billionaire. The couch was a clean white, a small chandelier hanging from the ceiling above them as the huge tv played some football match. The team was probably looking at it now, probably already have forgotten about him.
âMhmâŚâ
He couldn't even rest his back against the back of the couch from the deep slashes that painted his back. Tears were brimming his eyes. Gid, he was pathetic, he was feeling so sorry for himself!Â
His eyes zoned back into the room as someone entered the room, placing a tray in front of the two before walking hastily back out of the room. Nikoâs eyes lit up as he saw two bowls of steaming hot soup along with a mug that looked like hot chocolate.
Martyn chuckled, picking up a bowl and handing it to Niko, âCareful, buttercup, it's hot.â
Niko wasn't even bothered by the petname, he stirred the soup with his spoon. He could cry from relief, taking the spoon and gently slurping, wincing from how hot it was. Martyn bursed into a loud chuckle, âWhat did I tell you?â His voice was playful as he ruffled Nikoâs hair affectionately.
Niko couldn't help but lean into the warm affectionate touch. After such a brutal, rough handling, this was almostâŚ.sweet. Niko tried to snap himself out of his thoughts, eyes flicking up to the television. He felt the otherâs eyes on him, wishing the couch could just swallow him whole.
âYour face is too pretty for all of this gang violence.â
