We are in midst the worst bushfires in living memory.
These photos were taken yesterday (4/1/20) at 4.30 in the AFTERNOON. Within minutes, the entire sky turned pitch black and stayed that way till morning.
At times, the smoke has been so thick that at times you can’t see 50m in front of you. Now the ash and burnt gum leaves are falling like snow
We have been constantly at risk of ember attacks, and at times have been less than 20km from the fire front. And we have it good. So many people have had to be evacuated. Towns have been clogged up with families driving through, families who have lost everything, or have been forced to evacuate, looking for food, water and fuel, traveling to family or friends, or in some cases just to somewhere else that is safe.
People have lost their lives. COUNTLESS animals have lost their lives. Entire ecosystems have been destroyed.
Australia has been on fire for months, and most likely will be for many months to come. Send your thoughts. Send your prayers. Lord knows we need them.
