Hamid and Zolf always makes me sad. I understand why they only truly become good friends in the epilogue because they needed to improve and evolve but it still hurts.

The way Hamid projects his need for validation and complicated paternal feelings into Zolf cause he can only recognize paternal affection in emotional distance hurts me. How Zolf can't see Hamid as an equal a lot of times because his feelings towards Hamid are mixed with a valid but misplaced ressentment against the elites (is also why he tries harder with Sasha and why he only bonds with Wilde when Wilde stops his upper class pretense). How Zolf needs to learn to be more open and put his feelings in the right places while Hamid needs to understand his priveledges work to dismantle them and stop looking for aproval and only by getting there they can finally be friends. How is time and caring about the same people that puts them together and not the simple act of being in an adventure.

The other relationships I'm lowkey obcessed with are:

Azu and Cel's friendship; I know Hamid is Azu's best friend and they are perfect for each other but I think people overlook how much Cel not only cared for Azu but lowkey treated her like a younger sister. Because Hamid is Azu's age mentally, Skraak does not care and Zolf, Wilde, Barnes, Carter and Eahart are a mess Cel is the only one that seems to realize how young Azu is. And they let her act her age. They are the one hyped about her crush on Kiko and trying to make the couple happen, they are the one offering bad advice and being funny and letting her unwind. Cel just cares so much. And Azu cares for them right back. Hell after the adventure the two of them still go around the world together in the Venga for five years! They pioner medical tecnology together. Azu keeps Cel grounded and Cel helps Azu learn more and new things all while they tease each other about their relationships. And hey Hamid will always be Azu's best friend, Hamid and Azu are soul sibblings but Cel is her fun crazy relative and I love it.

And Sasha and Grizzop. I find so fun how Sasha is imidiatly Grizzop's favorite. And unlike Zolf is not a matter of having difficulty bounding with the others (the palapals are such an important duo Azu sees him in the Garden and Grizzop loves Hamid and actually belives in him and helps him in doing the right thing at the Al Tahan state) he just adores her. And Sasha cares a lot for him in ways she can't express. Sasha doesn't know what actually being cared for means and so when it happens again and again she is confusee but she loves him. I cry with him screaming to her about how she is worth more than a thing and I love how in Rome she starts questioning his moral absolutism in ways that would probably had made a difference for him if they had time because he does consider and respects her opinion. My goblin died to save her and it will always make me cry.

Also just everyone and Carter. No explanations. I just want to dig my teeth into Carter and relationships.
