Few plants are as versatile as the darkblossom, a small purple flower that can be used for anything from treating wounds to seasoning food. The plant’s usefulness, combined with the fact that it grows all over Darkmoon Island, makes it highly valuable to members of the Darkmoon Faire [Quest: Herbs for Healing].

A rare flower called serpentbloom grows deep in the recesses of the Wailing Caverns, an underground cave system that stretches beneath the entirety of the Barrens savannah [Quest: Serpentbloom, Quest: Winnoa Pineforest]. It is believed that, in large quantities, serpentbloom can prevent nightmares [Quest: Preemptive Methods].

Although Tirisfal Glades has been in a state of decay for many years, plants still grow all around the region. A few different herbs thrive in the toxic waters of Stillwater Pond, a small body of water located directly west of Brill. Although the pond’s ecosystem has been severely damaged by volatile waste chemicals, the Stillwater lily plant that grows on its shores can actually be made into a broth that is relatively safe for consumption [Quest: Tadpole Terror, Quest: Lily, Oh Lily]. 

Although Nazmir may be something of an inhospitable swamp, many different types of flora actually thrive in its warm, humid climate. One such plant is the sweetleaf bush, which grows in the Shoaljai tar pits near the region’s western border. The plant has been prized for its crisp aroma since ancient times, although the local Zandalari also value sweetleaf because of its healing properties and effectiveness in combatting certain infections [Item: Sweetleaf, Quest: Won’t Leaf Him to Die].

The Emerald Nightmare has infected and corrupted much of Val’sharah’s native wildlife, transforming the magical forest’s verdant flora into something dark and twisted. The tall bloodflower that grows in the central part of the region is one such plant adversely affected by the Nightmare’s taint [Bonus Objective: Flow of the Nightmare].

Ember blossoms only grow in a pool of molten magma in a cave on Draenor’s Elemental Plateau [Quest: A Rare Bloom].

The Pandaren cultivate these red flowers with the express purpose of feeding them to silkworms. Generations of horticulture have made the leaves of the mulberry plant into the perfect sustenance for the insects [Item: Mulberry Leaves, Quest: Where Silk Comes From]. The largest mulberry crop can be found on the Imperial Silk Farm in the Valley of the Four Winds where most of the continent’s silk production occurs [NPC: Silkmaster Tsai Dialogue].
