Soulcaps, a strain of fungi endemic to the Runewood region of Stormheim, are ritually used to rouse the spirits of ancient Vrykul leaders [Quest: The Dreaming Fungus]. The fungus is first made into an aromatic incense and then burned over the designated ruler’s grave to call them forth. The soulcap incense must also be paired with an offering – usually food – lest the Vrykul leader deem the gift unsatisfactory and refuse to impart their blessing, which is necessary to pass the Trial of Valor [Quest: Judgment Day, Quest: A Trial of Valor, Quest: Bjornharta].
