#devi x ben

if there's one thing mindy kaling's gonna do it's write a bj novak-esque, sometimes-jewish, usually rich, pretentious asshole love interest with a good heart who has an enemies-to-lovers arc with her main girl...and if there's one thing i'm gonna do, it's eat it up every time. whatever's wrong with her is also wrong with me, i guess.

Devi Vishwakumar is one of the best main female characters and I will deeply miss her.

I'm watching *Never Have I Ever*, and I love how well-executed the love triangle is—it's hard to tell who she'll end up with. I know she'll end up with Ben, and I'm glad because he's my favorite. But my goodness, it's done so well—unlike *TSITP*, which totally manipulated its audience. Oh, and Devi's background—being part Indian and part American—is actually addressed! Whereas in *TSITP*, Belly is half-Korean, but nobody cares! If "Team Conrad" watched this show, I'm sure their go-to argument for why Devi should end up with Paxton would be: "But thanks to him, she was able to walk again!" Over and over... And no, I'm not comparing Paxton to Conrad. That would be an insult. Paxton is great. It's one of the best love triangles I've ever seen—right up there with *Jane the Virgin*!

okay so i'm rewatching never have i ever and how can ANYONE with a sane mind think paxton was better for devi than ben?? like paxton was all nonchalant and shit and invited fucking trent and marcus to their date, meanwhile ben kissed devi first and broke up with shira and told her that they could do long distance and he was ALL IN for DEVI. and ben wasn't even that bad looking, fab and el were crazy for saying paxton when ben was the obvious better choice. also, academic rivals is such a good trope whattt. all paxton had were looks, no efforts and bad grades. ben was such a good guy im so glad they were endgame.
