The Emerald Nightmare has infected and corrupted much of Val’sharah’s native wildlife, transforming the magical forest’s verdant flora into something dark and twisted. The tall bloodflower that grows in the central part of the region is one such plant adversely affected by the Nightmare’s taint [Bonus Objective: Flow of the Nightmare].

The buds are a staple in the diet of many of Nazjatar’s native species, especially the fathom rays [Quest: Requisition: More Deepcoral Buds]. Now that the region is no longer submerged underwater, it is believed that deepcoral buds are the reason the area’s indigenous rays can float [Item: Deepcoral Pod].
