oh i can actually confirm u are 10000% correct!!! that was def the intent both when i initially wrote the hc (x) and when i rewrote it as a fic (x) lmao. it ends up fully requited on all ends - ayato doesn't completely recover his memories but he does still sort of recall his feelings for kazuha? and that morphs into new memories, ofc. thoma and kazuha end up falling for each other a bit while on the run/returning to meet with ayato, and that only strengthens the longer they get to spend together
If ever you write that tomo/toma/kazu thing you posted in full I swear I will die a happy fool bc that was magnificent. Genuinely astounding. Please give yourself all the victories.
