Hey, it’s some happy #bookmail! . . Okay, storytime: This book was the beginning of my doom this week. The author posted on twitter that her press has pulled out of AWP and was offering a 40% discount on “my gorgeous queer disabled ecopoetic freaky sturgeon dinosaur survivor” Obviously, I was not going to be able to pass that up. But this was just the first drop from the gathering storm that was the AWP mess and its resultant deluge: tons and tons of publishers offering their conference discounts online either because they were also pilling out of AWP, or to make their books available to those who could not be there. . . Now, I was never going to AWP, because money, buy I love books and I love a bandwagon and I love coupon codes, so this spelled my doom. Over the next 24 hours I ordered I don’t even know how many books from at least six presses, a few of whom are new to me. Right now I am avoiding looking at my credit card balance but eagerly awaiting the rain of new books coming my way. . .
