We're (hopefully*) meeting on Goblin, Crystal at The Wandering Stairs in the Crystarium tomorrow for our walk!

Mr. Barry is very comical, like the bromance he's got going on with Gilbert is so funny, I can't even - He tries so hard to fit in with him like we get it, William! His happiness knows no bound here lmao

The shirbert passion was the highlight for me, tbh I didn't expect Gilbert to just jump out of the carriage to make out with Anne, Diana didn't either, she's like- My Dad is right there, you fools!

Personally, I think that Mr. Barry saw the passionate PDA but kept quite bc he doesn't want to freak them out. Lmao He doesn't want to lose his only real friendship with an 18 yo boy.

Okay so I don't want to talk about Winifred because I think she's being treated very very unfairly.

As for the scene by the fire, I saw it under a completely different light. 

Anne is an incredibly selfless person and she might indeed interpret his words like you said, thus thinking she's holding him back from his dream life and that she has nothing to offer him. 

But I believe Gilbert's intent was completely different. 

He's basically putting his dream job on the same level as Anne, he's telling her about this perfect life he could possibly have in Paris, while simultaneously letting her know he would give it all up in the blink of an eye if only he could have her by his side.

2. There’s this very cute scene in Anne of Avonlea where Anne is on a birthday picnic with some of her girl friends and they start imagining if souls were flowers. It also takes place inside an old forgotten garden belonging to someone who died and I really hope Anne finds that garden

3. Gilbert finds a small apple tree in the middle of the Haunted Wood and takes Anne there and

“Here’s a fallen tree with a cushion of moss. Sit down, Anne—it will serve for a woodland throne. I’ll climb for some apples. They all grow high—the tree had to reach up to the sunlight.”

They have a lovely evening together before leaving for college :’)

1. anne’s gold letter to gil wasn’t the only letter she wrote like she’s written a ton more but she just didn’t send it bc ya know y would she lmao like just bc they had a truce doesnt mean that they’re like that kind of friends who would exchange letters lol gil’s the same from every port he lands he would write to anne idk b i just love the idea of letters especially with these two bc that meant that even tho they’re far away from each other, they would still remember the other and im def a sucker for that 

2. i think someone already said this but i think gil would talk about anne every chance he’d get with the other members of the crew especially since he would see her everywhere (read @aanneshirley​‘s where the wind rages through your hair lmao) it might be a lil odd seeing as it’s just a crush yeah but idk bro i think gil’s feelings for anne is more than a crush now yeah idk he’s so captivated by her yes like from his eyes alone u could already see that he’s prob already picturing a future with her

3. it might be difficult to picture him so whipped in the second season bc he mostly had his nose under a book yeah but i think that’s just bc he’s using his passion to pursue something fulfilling like becoming a doctor as a coping mechanism for his grief like he lost everything after his father’s death so his drive to be Someone was something he hold on to keep on living and as much as i love a pining gil i love that he has a separate reality (? i can’t think of a proper word) from anne like it’s for his own personal growth without any romantic affiliations attached and i like that especially since they are children yes and using a person as the v reason for living is v dangerous and toxic so i like that the show outlined his individual growth before any like romantic advances

4. the blythe-lacroixes and the cuthberts will be sharing a lot of family dinners bc the cuthbert’s were the first to welcome bash in the community ( Days of Auld Lang Syne is a lovely fic that executes this particular idea) making anne grow more closer with mary and bash, particularly mary bc i think they’re rather similar no (strong, independent, beautiful, witty) like bash and gil are similar with how they appear to like worship the women they love lol
