I wanted to write something but before u read this is a announcement
I recently got involved back into A-tale made by tucrator again and as I did I was seeing lots of questions and pleads to both me and tucrator on behalf of my OC Wisp and whether she is canon in her AU or not. Wisp is NOT canon in her AU and Is based on my OC Aria. TheAUcrator already announced that her friends ocs were only canon in her AU and while we're not discouraged to write and do fanart in our own AUs, she said it makes it easier for her to manage. With that said, pls don't harass her on her choices and decisions and pls be respectful as I feel I had to write this to make my point.
Now for what I wrote
The new advisor
Characters: Faron(killer) Wisp(Aria/OC) Xibalba(nightmare)
Note: not canon to ATale. This AU belongs to @tucrator
It was early morning and the court was in a discussion of the issue, The air in the hall was thick with the scent of melted candle wax and old parchment. At the center of the floor stood Tazia, Chevalier Faron stood with his jaw clenched, his uniform torn and his boots coated in the dust of the West Sector.
The Council of Advisors sat in their desk that were circled around and standing apart from each other, peering down like a row of vultures. Xibalba the emperor, was above the bench, enveloped in darkness as he watched the proceeding.
"Chevalier Faron was out there after a mercenary reported a protest. He was dispersing the rioters with restraint until this Sentinel jumped in and turned a simple crowd-control mission into a disaster." The serpent advisor with the star on her head and muddy scales spoke.
"I was trying to help him!" Tazia shouted back, her voice booming through the hall. "The crowd wasn't just 'rowdy.' They had surrounded Faron and very close to ignite a massive cache of black powder right in the middle of the square. I saw he was trapped, so I jumped in to break up the pack and push the mob back!"
"And because you 'pushed,'" another advisor sneered, pointing a hand at her, "you brought down three stone buildings. You didn't just stop the protesters; you dropped tons of masonry onto the very sector the Emperor just taxed. You turned a protest into a pile of rubble. You stuck your nose into a Chevalier’s business, and now the whole district is a graveyard of expensive stone."
Throughout the shouting, Emperor Xibalba didn't say a word, but his dark, hollow eyes moved slowly between Tazia and Faron. Everyone in the room was sweating, terrified to even breathe too loud. To Xibalba, it didn't matter if Tazia’s heart was in the right place—all he saw was trouble.
"if I may, may I add something against the claim?" Spoke a voice
Everything went silent when a woman walked over. She moved with a rhythmic, feline grace, her silver hair shining under the torchlight. A beautiful woman she was as it actually stunned the advisors into a dazed silence. Even the Emperor narrowed his eyes. He thought she looked way too exquisite to be a strategist, but then he saw her expression. She looked cold, clinical, and a hundred times smarter than anyone else in the room.
"who is she?" Questioned the emperor. Finally speaking.
The woman looked up at him, something everyone else avoided to do. A advisor nearby spoke up, "she's the rookie. The new advisor in training." The woman bows respectfully in grace, "Wisp Feywin my lord."
Wisp.
"i remember, the others came to complain that you finished your training in a week." He paused, "impressive." Said Xibalba. "Yes my lord and if I may, I like to give my testimony and evidence on why this mortal is innocent."
Mortal... She called her a mortal.
"you may proceed," xibalba nods.
Wisp stepped to the center. She didn't even look at Tazia or Faron. She simply unrolled a long scroll, revealing hand-drawn architectural diagrams and map sketches.
"The Council is wrong because they are looking at the damage, not the physics of the blast," Wisp said. Her voice was quiet, but it cut through the room like a cold blade.
"We can see it just fine, girl," A advisor snapped.
Wisp looked at him so coldly that he actually stepped back. Wisp cleared her throat not appreciating being interrupted. "The black powder the protesters had was hidden in a cellar nearby. If it had ignited at street level, the fire would have burned down the whole West Sector, including the counting houses where the tax records are kept. Faron didn't realize the torches his men were carrying were actually drifting sparks toward the cellar vents."
She pointed at the diagrams on her parchment. "As for Bianchi... She saw the sparks reaching the areas and used the weight of the stone walls to collapse the cellar, smothering the powder before it could explode. She wasn't just helping your Chevalier stona crowd; she was using the stone pillars to prevent a explosion. She saved the actual tax money the Emperor is owed."
The room went dead quiet. The advisors leaned in, squinting at the ink drawings. One by one, they realized she was right.
"The geometry checks out," an advisor whispered, wiping sweat from his brow. "She actually saved the collection."
Tazia let out a huge, booming laugh that rattled the torches. "Ha! I knew it! I told you guys I was saving the day! You hear that, Faron? I’m a hero! I’m the only reason you’re not a toasted scrap of meat right now!" Tazia grinned.
Suddenly, the air in the room got freezing cold.
Wisp didn't move an inch, but she turned her head slowly to look at Tazia. The beauty in her face stayed, but her eyes went totally predatory. Tazia felt a chill run down her spine. The advisors scrambled back in their seats, realizing the pretty girl was actually the scariest person in the room. Tazia’s laugh died instantly. She pulled hersekf back fast, her posture locking up in a reflexive flinch of fear.
"I did not do this for you, Bianchi," Wisp said, stepping close until she was in front of the woman. "I fixed this because I hate flawed logic. If you ever 'help' in such a loud, stupid, messy way again, I won't bother saving you. I’ll personally see to it that you are broken down for scrap, and I’ll be way meaner than this Council ever was. You get me, Sentinel?"
Tazia swallowed hard, her eyes wide. "U-understood."
The whole court sat there in shock. They were used to being afraid of the Emperor, but now they were terrified of this tiny demon woman.
Xibalba finally moved, leaning forward just an inch. A tiny hint of smirk hit his face as he looked at Wisp. She was smart and totally ruthless.
That's all. I idk if I'll write more for a bit but this was fun to write.
