ROUND 2 — Match 84 of 138

Sugarpaws (Jumalanpelko)

Problematic because: "The cults highest authority and it's God's biggest enabler. Does not care if follower is dying if it means that the God might not survive. Also ready to scar her child mentally, if it means that he will become the best servant to God. Also in love with said god." Propaganda: "You love to hate her. Sugarpaws is most infuriating woman to deal with, she does not care for anything but her God. She makes her child outcast just so that she could have made the best guard there is. She get said child scarred by his old friend so that he won't trust anyone, and SHE IS PROUD. SHE IS PROUD TO HAVE SERVED HER GOD WELL. She tells another grieving child to celebrate her friend's death, after telling that he was not that good of servant and that he made his choice. She comes from outside, but swears to kill anyone who leaves and dares to come back. She is the biggest enabler of the cycle of death and abuse. She won't let anyone help another young character to give birth after she deflects her demands. If God's house is dying, she is the one to cry out for only the god. She cares only for her God. She is in love with Her, and if she could, she'd marry Her. Toxic yuri doesn't get much more toxic than that, or more one sided for that matter."

vs. William Afton (Five Nights at Freddy's)

Problematic because: "He's the reason the pizza bear franchise is haunted in the first place, which is a very weird sentence if you don’t know FNAF but unfortunately it’s true. He co-founded the Fazbear/Fredbear restaurant business, used the Spring Bonnie rabbit suit to lure children into the back room, murdered them, and hid what happened well enough that the place kept going while their spirits ended up tied to the animatronics. He also kills Henry Emily’s daughter Charlotte, which is one of the big starting points for the entire revenge/possession nightmare the series is built on. He creates Afton Robotics and the Funtime animatronics, which are designed for capturing children, and his own daughter Elizabeth dies because of Circus Baby. He also sends his son Michael down into the Sister Location facility later, which is basically another round of “my children can be collateral in my extremely evil robotics career.” He’s a serial killer, a terrible father, a businessman covering up horrors through a children’s entertainment brand, and eventually the corpse in the rabbit suit who refuses to stay dead." Propaganda: 1. "I like him because FNAF’s whole horror works better when there’s a human source for it. The haunted animatronics are scary, but they’re also victims. Afton is the reason they’re victims. He gives the series that horrible contrast between bright family restaurant branding and what’s literally hidden in the walls. He is a terrible person, but as a villain concept, “children’s entertainer/robotics founder turned serial killer who becomes trapped inside his own mascot suit and still keeps coming back” is hard to beat." 2. "william afton is THE fnaf problematic character because every time you think you’ve reached the bottom of what he did, the lore opens another trapdoor. murdered children? yes. co-founded the company? yes. built murder robots? yes. somehow managed to be a bad dad in multiple different directions? also yes. but he’s such a good villain because he’s not just some random monster. he’s the guy who made the monster mascot brand. he’s the reason the silly pizza place is cursed. he’s the purple guy, springtrap, scraptrap, whatever name he’s using this week, and the fact that he goes from “creepy minigame sprite” to “rotting rabbit suit man who will not die” is genuinely one of the funniest/scariest villain progressions in horror games." 3. "he is awful in every way. awful business partner to henry, awful father to elizabeth and michael and probably evan, awful boss probably, awful mascot performer in the sense that you should never let him near a mascot suit again. and yet he’s also the reason fnaf has so much staying power as horror. the animatronics are tragic and creepy, but afton is the nasty little human explanation behind the tragedy. he’s the guy who made the childhood nostalgia setting unsafe. also, unfortunately, “i always come back” is a stupidly effective villain line. i’m mad that it works, but it works."
