I was talking to a friend about this earlier and I can’t shake the feeling that Atticus is a Sinclair.
Hear me out.
Something about him just feels Sinclair-coded. The look, the vibe and before anyone says it, yes I know that’s not his final style at all but in the pic he’s giving Emma/Enid’s brother, not love interest.
What if he is Enid’s eldest brother?
One who left. One who saw Esther for what she was and walked away before she could mold him into her idea of a perfect wolf.
And if we want to make it a little tragic…maybe he left when Enid was still a young pup. Maybe he was the only sibling who didn’t bully her. The one who actually loved her...
Now imagine this…
The woods had not been quiet in days and Enid kept running until the scent of one pack faded and another took its place.
The Canadian wilderness stretched endlessly around her, cold air burning her lungs as she pushed through brush and snow. She had lost count of how many wolves had chased her since she last saw Wednesday...
She had stopped at the edge of a lake to drink some water. Her paws were sore and her legs were trembling with exhaustion. The water was refreshing after so much running but then, the next pack found her… This time she didn’t even try to run.
Eight wolves stepped from the trees, narrowing closer, snarling and biting at the air around her. They had been tracking her for miles and they looked ferocious...
Enid lowered her body, ears pinned back, ready for a fight she knew she couldn’t win.
Then another scent cut through the forest pulling their attention temporarily.
A sharp, well organized pack burst from the treeline and positioned themselves between Enid and the attackers. Unlike the others, they moved with quiet precision, forming a protective wall.
In front of the pack stood a large blonde wolf.
Enid inhaled.
The scent was powerful, layered with dominance and calm control.
An Alpha, she realized.
A fight broke out instantly, fangs flashed and claws ripped through fur and skin.
Enid watched from the edge of the lake as the blonde wolf led his pack through the chaos. He was not reckless nor savage. Each of his movements were measured, and each strike purposeful.
He commanded without dominating. He seemed like kind of leader Enid had never known growing up…
Or perhaps…the kind she had known once, briefly…
The attacking wolves eventually scattered, vanishing into the darkness one by one as silence returned to the forest.
The victorious pack shifted back into human form, grabbing capes and clothing from backpacks they had left hidden near the clearing.
One of them glanced toward Enid. “Why isn’t she shifting back?”
The tall Alpha stepped forward. “It is alright, pup,” he said gently. “You can shift back now.”
But nothing happened…Enid whimpered softly, tapping her paw against the frozen ground in frustration.
The Alpha frowned and stepped closer. He inhaled once, then again and again, eyes widening. “Enid?” he said, disbelief breaking through his voice. “Is that…really you?”
Enid huffed and nodded her head as best she could.
For a moment he just stared, then he laughed, stunned and relieved all at once. “Oh my moon. How? I haven’t seen you since you were this tall.” He held his hand low near his hip. “What happened, pup?”
Enid chuffed, attempting to explain with a series of frustrated sounds.
The Alpha studied her for a moment before realization dawned. “You presented as an Alpha too?” He confirmed. “And mated already?!” He added chucking.
Enid pulled her head back with a confused sound.
Atticus laughed again and reached forward, wrapping his arms around her thick neck.
“Come on, kiddo,” he said warmly. “Let’s get you back to camp. We have something that can help you shift again.”
Enid followed eagerly behind him.
After weeks of running, she had finally found someone she trusted.
Her brother, Atticus.
She only hoped he was right and she’d be able to turn back into a human soon, because if she did, she’d be able to see Wednesday again and that, would mean the world to her…
Yeah I don’t know if the writers would ever go there but the idea of Atticus being the Sinclair brother who left and later found Enid in the woods is living in my brain rent free. 😌🩷🖤
